Nimrod T. Chapel, Jr., is a trial lawyer who defends the rights of consumers and the dignity of working people in court and administrative hearings throughout the state. 

Nimrod began his career as a summer extern at the Missouri Supreme Court and later joined The Sly James Firm as a trial lawyer. He has tried cases to judges and juries. He recently completed a term as an Administrative Hearing Commissioner with the State of Missouri. There, he presided over hundreds of hearings and worked to protect consumer from unscrupulous business practices and to protect the rights of workers.

He has also served as the General Counsel and Director of the Legal Service Division of the Missouri Department of Revenue and worked there to ensure that laws designed to protect consumers from unscrupulous used car dealers were followed. Also, Nimrod’s history as a public servant for the Department of Labor offers a glimpse into his compassion for working people and his ability to resolve complex problems that might otherwise be roadblocks. Nimrod has represented thousands of people in consumer and tax related class actions. He has tried cases. He has represented consumers who have been lied to, taken advantage of and cheated. He has represented workers who suffered from injuries on and off the job. He has also brought harassment and discrimination charges against individuals and corporations large and small when they failed to respect the dignity of their workers. In 2012, Nimrod was voted as the “Best Attorney” in Kansas City in The Pitch’s ‘Best of the Best’ by the public. In 2009 he was recognized as an “Up and Coming Lawyer” by Lawyers Weekly

He has held significant leadership roles in civic organizations including The Missouri Bar, United Way, and The Y.
